STATEMENT UNDER SECTION 25(3) OF THE RTI ACT, 2005

            Under Section 25(3) of the Right to Information Act, 2005 the information for the year 2007 in respect of this Secretariat is as under:-

The number of requests made to the public authority.

The number of decisions where applicants were not entitled to access to the documents pursuant to the requests, the provisions of this Act under which these decisions were made and the number of times such provisions were invoked.

All applications received by the Public Authority were considered and best efforts were made to furnish the desired information in case it did not fall within the exemptions enumerated in Section 8 of the Act.  In case, the applications concerned some other Public Authority partly or in full, the same were forwarded to such Public Authority under Section 6(3) of the Act, to enable the applicant to get the desired information.  Efforts were made, wherever required, to provide necessary assistant to facilitate the applicants to get the desired information.  The Public Authority is conscious of its obligation under the RTI Act to put as much intimation as possible in the public domain and efforts in this direction are continuing in order to obviate the need to resort to formal application for seeking information.
