BRIEF RESUME' OF THE BUSINESS TRANSACTED BY THE RAJYA SABHA DURING ITS TWO HUNDRED AND TWELFTH SESSION (15^TH NOVEMBER TO 7^TH DECEMBER, 2007)

SUMMONS

Summons for the Two Hundred and Twelfth Session of the Rajya Sabha was issued to the Members on the 5^th November, 2007.

DURATION OF THE SESSION

The Two Hundred and Twelfth Session of the Rajya Sabha commenced on the 15^th November, 2007 and the House adjourned sine die on the 7^th December, 2007. The sitting of the Raja Sabha fixed for Friday, the 16^th November, 2007 was cancelled. The House, however, met on Saturday, the 1^st December, 2007 to transact Government Legislative Business. The House sat for 17 days and the actual hours of sittings were 84 hours and 31 minutes (excluding recess intervals). The House was prorogued by the President on the 12^th December, 2007.
