Teacher; Member, (i) Committee on Rules, and (ii) Committee on Government Assurances, Rajya Sabha; elected to the Rajya Sabha in September, 1991.

Special interest: (i) Literacy among women folk, (ii) teaching and (iii) Social work and love for animals.

Favourite pastime and recreation: Reading, fine arts and travelling.
