B. Com.; Congress (I) (Karnataka); son of late Shri Basaprabu Kore and Shrimati Sharadadevi Kore; born : at Ankali, Taluka Chikodi, District Belgaum, August 1, 1947; educated at (i) Ankali, (ii) G.A. High School and (iii) College of Commerce, Belgaum; married to : Shrimati Asha, November 30, 1973; 1 son and 2 daughter

Agriculturist and Businessman; keenly interested in the upliftment and welfare of the depressed class since student days; was President, Reception Committee of All India Veera Shaiva Maha Sabha 21st Convention at Belgaum; was as Chairman of Karnataka Liberal Education Society, Belgaum; established number of Technical and Medical Institutions; has taken up an ambitious plan to construct a most modern Hospital of 1000 beds with superspeciality facilities; Director, Chamber of Commerce, Belgaum; Founder President, Bidi Tobacco Dealers Federation, Nipani, Belgaum District; General Secretary, Anka1i Education Society, Ankali, Taluka Chikodi; Member, (i) Karnataka Film Chamber, Bangalore, (ii) Board of Management Karnataka Liberal Education Society, Belguam, since 1984 and presently Chairman of the Society, (iii) Consultative Committee of Ministry of Defence and (iv) Standing Committee on Defence; elected to the Rajya Sabha in April, 1990.

Travels abroad: Travelled almost all foreign countries.
