High School, Barabanki, (v) Govt. Inter College, Faizabad and (vi) Lucknow University; married to : Shrimati Savitri, April 1954; 1 daughter

Advocate; courted arrest in 1957, 1960, 1966 and 1968- 69; detained under MISA for 19 months during emergency period; worked for abolition or caste system and Vanish English Movement under the leadership of late Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia; associated with (i) Socialist Party, (ii) Samyukta Socialist Party, (iii) Lok Dal, (iv) Janata Party and (v) Janata Dal; President, Janata Party, Uttar Pradesh, 1983--85; General Secretary, All India Janata Party, 1985-- 87; Secretary, (i) Socialist Party, Barabanki, 1956, (ii) Samyukta Socialist Party and (iii) Samyukta Socialist Party Vidhan Mandal Dal, Uttar Pradesh. 1967; Leader, Samyukta Socialist Party Vidhan Mandal Dal, 1969--74; Chairman, Parliamentary Board.
