BENIWAL, SHRIMATI VIDYA:

8th Standard (Hindi); Janata Dal (S) (Haryana); daughter of Shri Arjun Ram and Shrimati Bhuri Devi; born : at Village Shergarh, 1944; educated at Kanya Pathshala, Dabwali (Sirsa); married to : Ch. Jagdish Kumar Beniwal, 1971; 1 son and 3 daughter

Agriculturist; engaged in social services like upliftment of women, help to the poor and the downtrodden, organised social functions at village level; associated with political activities for the last 15 years; was Member, (i) Lok Dal, (ii) Legislative Assembly, Haryana, 1987--90, (iii) Central Committee of the Tuberculosis Association of India and (iv) Committee on Labour and Welfare; elected to the Rajya Sabha in April, 1990.

Special interest: Upliftment of women, scheduled castes/ tribes, down-trodden, agriculturists and women education.
