Agarwal and Shrimati Maina Devi; b. at Jaipur, March 17, 1937; ed. at Jaipur Maharaja College, Jaipur; m. Shrimati Maanwati Agarwal, April 29, 1956; 3 s. Businessman; keenly interested in the economic development of the country; took keen interest for the development of mining industry, particularly Chromite Mining and Gem Stones in the States of Orissa and Rajasthan and also interested in Kaolin, Soap Stone, Silica Sand and Granite Mining, etc.; associated with, (i) Vishwa Hindu Parishad, (ii) Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh, (iii) Bharatiya Jana Sangh, (iv) Janata Party, (v) Friends of Tribal Society, Calcutta, (vi) Agarwal Samaj, Jaipur, (vii) Rajasthan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, (viii) FIMI, (ix) FICCI, (x) ICCR, (xi) Indo-German Parliamentary Group and various business organisations
and cultural societies; President, Rajasthan State Bharatiya Janata Party,1990-97;was Member,(i) Committee on Government Assurances, Rajya Sabha, (ii) Committee on Industry, (iii) Committee on Subordinate Legislation and (iv) Consultative Committee for the Ministry of Commerce; Member, (i) National Executive of B.J.P.,(ii) Committee on Science and Technology, Environment and Forests, (iii) Committee on Industry and (iv) Consultative Committee for the Ministry of Civil Aviation; elected to the Rajya Sabha in April, 1990 and re-elected in April, 1996.

Travels abroad : U.S.A., U.K., France, Turkey, Greece and other European countries in 1987 and 1988; Hong Kong, Thailand, Singapore and Philippines in 1993;
Bulgaria, Romania, Netherlands, Switzerland, Italy and France in 1994 and visited Portugal, Trinidad & Tobago and South African countries in a delegation with H.E. the President of India in 1995.
